About the Artist

Hello! My name is Lauren Kaplan, I am currently a senior at the University of Colorado Boulder and I am from Los Angeles, California. I have loved art for as long as I can remember. I have always been very creative and have had high spatial skills.

I took Painting and Drawing classes all throughout middle school and high school. My favorite medium is charcoal. I enjoy the simplicity of charcoal and the forgiveness of it. I also explored the cross-section between arts and technology in high school. I learned how to code and how to integrate that into my own art. However, I spent most of my time studying architecture. I attended multiple architecture camps at USC, UCLA, and Pasadena Arts School. Through these camps, not only did I learn how to make clean and professional-looking drawings and models, but I also learned other digital skills such as Adobe Photoshop Illustrator, Google SketchUp, Revit, Rhino 3D, InDesign, and many more. I started to explore Photoshop more and more, creating my own pieces. I have recently started painting with acrylics. Although painting was not my strong suit in the past, I pushed myself to learn. I am so excited to grow and expand my knowledge of digital arts!
